I'm getting ready to post my KitchenAid Classic Mixer on Craig's List for sale. But thought I'd see if there are any interested readers here first. (That is if anyone still reads my blog, since I'm such a slacker!)

Here are the specs:
We got this when we were married back in 1999. So in the 10 years that I've owned it, I've used it about 20-30 times. Gently Used!

I did a little searching yesterday and to purchase this model new it's around $225. There were a couple used on e-bay and they were going for $85+.

Halloween 2009

Halloween was pretty low key for us this year. But the celebrating did start early on and kind of made the holiday drag on. Wednesday was our Trunk or Treat at the church. I took the kids around while Derick handed out the candy. It was COLD! This year I attempted to be less of a sugar giver and opted to hand out parachute men and bouncy balls mixed with the candy. My boys thought it was great!

Nathan really wanted to be Robin this year, but the only costume I found was online for $40 - I don't think so. So instead, he picked out the Blue Power Ranger costume (kind of gay - but whatever)!Spencer picked out Batman this year. This is the costume he wore to the first event - Trunk or Treat! (The other hand-me-down costumes will fit perfectly next year so we won't be having to buy two. They're so expensive and horrible quality - don't get me started.)
My little Breezy Bree was a cute little Strawberry! So cute! This was the first time she got to wear her little snow suit too.
Thursday we had a school carnival that was a lot of fun. I helped out with the food at the carnival, so Derick had the kids all by himself most of the evening. He was a GREAT help to me. Always so great about supporting my involvement with the PTO and other activities at Nathan's school.

Friday there was no school, so we mainly just hung around the house. Saturday, again, we just took it easy. We carved pumpkins and attempted roasting the seeds. Nathan loves pumpkin seeds, but mine didn't turn out. I'll have to pick some up at the store for him.

The boys trick-or-treated a few houses around the neighborhood and then we headed up to my parent's house for dinner. They really didn't care about the candy this year - just loved answering the door for the other trick-or-treaters. Note the costume change for Spencer. He opted for his too small Superman costume from last year with his new snow boots for Saturday's dressing up. What a kid!

Nathan is watching me type this, holding the grabby Ms. Bree and he says, "dad just kept eating my candy that day"! Too funny! And he's right, we both kept eating the boys' candy!Another Halloween done and gone! Can't believe Thanksgiving is next week. Can't believe I'm going to see New Moon on Saturday!

New Moon

Can't wait for New Moon. I'm going to a matinee on Saturday with some friends. Should be great fun! Did you catch the interview with Stephenie Meyer on Oprah last Thursday? Here is a link to bonus material, behind the scenes questions. Great stuff!

The Host

So I loved "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer. We all know I was so obsessed and flew to Arizona to meet her and sign my books. Anyhoo...I just happened to be doing a little catching up and noticed this on Stephenie's web site:

September 23, 2009

Hey guys, great news! The Host is on its way to the big screen:

Variety.com: "Twilight's Meyer..."

I'm so excited to be working with Nick Wechsler, and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz to bring The Host to a visual format. They've all been a dream to work with, so lovely and collaborative, and I feel like we're in a really good place to make a great movie together. And then to have Andrew Niccol writing and directing? Truly awesome. If you've never seen Gattaca, go watch it now. One of my favorite movies of all time. It's such a great example of character driven science fiction, which is ideal for The Host, no? I'm having an absolute blast imagining different dream casts, which I would post if people didn't take my silly blogs so seriously these days. I'm looking forward to seeing the cast lists you come up with in the fansite forums, and if any of them match mine.

So, very exciting. Yay Host!

XO
Steph

I'm so excited about this. I loved the Host and always wanted a little bit more. Maybe this will get her thinking about a sequel.

Random Post

So we've been sick around here the past few days. No, it's not the Swine. Just a little stomach bug.
With sickness, comes musical beds at our house. Tonight we're still trying to transition back to normal beds. Thus, I am waiting for Derick to finish reading books to Nathan in MY bed. I don't have time to wait and download pictures to finish my ongoing posts, so here's a random one.

On some blogs that I visit and leave comments, there are security words/letters that have to be typed before I can post my comment. You all know what I'm talking about. Anyway, it's like a word analogy game for me each time. For example:

Security Word/Letters - Word Analogy Or the word I Think of Instantly
perspoi - perspire

colisto - Colypso (off of Pirates of the Caribbean)

parlsli - parsley

polde - poodle

The list could go on and on. And I'm sure you've just had so much fun thinking of your own words! What fun Random posts are.

Serious Slacker

What a slacker I am. Or maybe I'm just overwhelmed with other things. Yeah, the second one. Blogging has taken the furthest backseat possible! However, I do have rough draft posts of the Month of June 2009, Spencer at Preschool, Nathan's Fall Soccer, Brianna's 6 month check up, My new nephew Cade, Fall visit to the cabin, Brianna's two teeth (yes - TWO teeth), "The Hunger Games" series, PTO, Primary, Canning (peaches, pears, tomatoes, & salsa)....ah, the list could go on and on.

But seriously, I know what I want to write about for each of these topics and have pictures to go along with most of the subjects too. How pathetic am I...I mean, how BUSY am I! Too busy to blog, that's for sure. Back to PTO stuff I go! And after this week, I am seriously devoting myself to some serious blogging!
