Happy Three Months Old!

Three Month Old Update
by Brianna Thompson
I turned three months old last week. I'm so cute right now! I weigh about eight pounds and my mom is kind of glad we've been having yucky weather, because I am getting to wear all the long-sleeved 0-3 month clothes she had washed and ready for me. She gets kind of nervous about me in short sleeves because I still get cold easily.

I eat about every 2 1/2 -3 hours, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter. Just depends on my mood! I get a little fussy in the evenings and go to bed around 10 p.m. I sleep until about 5 a.m. then eat and sleep another three hours. My mom says I'm a way better sleeper than my brothers ever were and she's very thankful for that! I take two good naps a day, sometimes 2-2 1/2 hours at a time, with a few cat naps in between. Lately I've been napping in my car seat in the stroller at my brother Nathan's T-ball games and while my mom runs errands. Or else I also love to nap in my swing. As long as I'm on the move, it keeps me asleep.A lot of times my bow falls down over my eyes. I usually just a keep on sleeping! My brothers think this is quite funny and are now on bow patrol. They are quick to spot the bow falling down and get it back into place before it falls over my eyes!I've stopped pooping my pants during the night. My mom swears every time she'd change my diapers there was always poop, up until a couple weeks ago. So now that I don't poop during the night, I have quite the poops mid-morning and throughout the rest of the day! My brothers think it's hilarious when I toot and poop as it is pretty noisy! A few weeks ago, I was doing tummy time (which I'm starting to actually enjoy now) and my mom didn't realize this poop was such a big blowout. She had to use lots of spray n' wash on this stain! And then she immediately put me in the tub! Speaking of tub time, I've grown out of my little tub and now just lay on my sponge. I love my baths and still just wait patiently while mom gets the temperature just right!

Look how I've grown (this was my first bath):And this was my last time in the little bath tub last week:As you can see I've lost a lot of my beautiful dark hair. But my mom is relieved to see that it is slowly coming back, but not as dark. I also have quite the bald spot on the back of my head. I get so excited when I'm in my bouncy chair trying to kick and turn my head back and forth looking at the lights. I also get quite excited when I'm on my change table. My mom and I have some of our best conversations at the change table! I've giggled a few times and always end up getting the hick-ups because I get so worked up and excited!Last Sunday I received a special blessing from my daddy. He's the best! We have some one-on-one time most Wednesdays when my mom goes to the gym. It was fun to meet some of my relatives for the first time and have grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins over.I'm happy to be growing and developing as I should. I'm pretty sure my mom, dad and brothers adore me and are thankful I'm a part of the family. What a neat family I have!

Timmmmmberrrrr - Part II

So the tree removal continues...After the tree was removed, this guy showed up with this machine (not sure what it's called)!
But it has a VERY sharp blade on it that moves back and forth spinning and chipping into the root and ground about 6 inches deep. Derick made the comment that he wasn't sure who had a more cushy job, him or this guy! Of course Derick gets to sit down at a desk all day, he has to stand.

And a couple hours later, this what was left. After a nice rainy weekend, these guys showed up yesterday morning and raked all the wood chips into this big pile.Hauled the wood chips off.And then made sure all the roots were dug out before filling in with fresh dirt.Finishing touch with custom fitted sod! He finished right in time too, it started to down pour right after he finished. Thanks Lawntech - they did a tremendous job!

Timmmmmberrrrr - Part I

Derick has been worried about the pine tree in our front yard for some time. "It has quite the lean" as the guy from Lawntech noted right before chopping into it. We were concerned that if we had a strong enough wind, someday it might just blow over and ruin neighbors' cars or houses. So we decided to get it chopped down.

Before:
After: (all you see is the neighbor's tree behind it.)The boys were quite intrigued. As were their friends! And here is the crew setting up to cut down the neighbor's tree across the street! I came out and started taking pictures of our tree and the one guy runs over to the other one and yells: "wait, wait, wait...that's the wrong one!" Funny funny! The guy in charge was like, "Good thing. I was worried about how we were going to work around that motor home parked there!"
He moved the truck and got right to work. He was quick too!
He'd cut half of the outer branch first and then the rest of the branch next to the trunk.

The guys below would drag the branches over to the shredder and toss them in (they had to empty the truck twice). He worked his way up and then sawed the top right off.
He then worked his way back down sawing chunks of the trunk off.
Look at the big chunks of logs in there!A couple hours later we no longer had a liability on our hands. Pretty interesting to watch!

I took so many pictures I could make a flip-book and you could watch the whole process like a movie!

To be continued...

The Tooth Fairy Visits

The Tooth Fairy visited for the first time last night. I don't get too emotional about Nathan growing up, but for some reason him having a tooth-less grin really gets to me. He's growing up!
Last night at 11 p.m. (we were up way too late) Nathan starts wiggling his tooth some more. He's been working on it off and on for a week or two now. But last night he goes to show his dad how loose it is. Derick asks if Nathan wants him to pull it out and says it might hurt a little bit, but Nathan says go ahead. A couple minutes later, out it came. No tears, just laughter from all three of us!Teeny, tiny little tooth. At his last dentist visit, the dentist said that we may have some problems with his new teeth coming in because he has such a small mouth - the new teeth are going to be much bigger. Oh Joy! Can't wait to see what's going to happen with that!

But Nathan was super excited to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. It was his idea to put it in a baggie and he even insisted on changing his pillow case to his Halloween glow-in-the dark one. At about 4 a.m. I woke up and went into see if Mr. Tooth Fairy had made the switch. Nope. I reach under his pillow and there's no baggie. Can't find it anywhere in the bed, so I figure it's fallen down behind the bed. Sure enough. I got the flashlight and it was clear back in the corner. So I scrounge up something to drag it out and make the switch. Derick wanted to give him $3-4.00. I thought that was a little steep. I left it up to him and since I only had 2 dollar bills or a 5 dollar bill, Nathan ended up with $2.00. Still a little much for a teeny tiny tooth. How much is the Tooth Fairy going to have to cough up for a molar?! Fun Times!

No More Training Wheels X 2

I started typing the title to this post and it automatically brings up any like titles (ya know)! I posted about Nathan losing his training wheels last year with this same title so it automatically came up. Anyway, I just added the "X 2" because after our Sunday evening stroll, the training wheel on Spencer's little bike was broken so Derick took it off to fix it. Nathan wanted to "just try it out for awhile without the training wheels". So he left them off.

This is what ended up happening...A little help from his oldest brother, and then he just took off!All the while, Daddy just held Brianna and I took pictures of the two goofballs!
Of course he can only ride the little bike because his new bike is still too tall. So he has one bike without training wheels and one with. Oh happy Summer!

Kindergarten Graduation

Nathan's Kindergarten Graduation was last Tuesday. It was sooo hilarious! What a cute kid I have. He was so entertaining - something he usually is NOT.They did the traditional gradution march, which was so funny to watch - they were all off. Nathan kept losing his balance! (Just a sidenote- the girl behind him is the one who had lice this year - YUCK!)Here he is, tongue out, concentrating on marching!
They sang a few songs, one of which was Wiggle like a worm, freeze like a statue. Derick and I were laughing so hard we were crying! Like I said, I've never seen Nathan get into something so much! The pictures are AWFUL, but at least you can see how he froze! Hilarious! Here he is accepting his diploma.
Nathan was so excited the whole week before telling us about the Hokie Pokie he'd been practicing and how his favorite part is when you put your backside in! At the end of the graduation they got to choose one person to go up and do the hokie pokie with. "Derick was like, oh great I hope he chooses you." Yeah right! Nathan's favorite person in the whole world is his dad! Sure enough, he chose his dad!

You put your head in...
You put your head out... (thought this was a funny picture!)And here they are finally to the Put your backside in... (Derick and our neighbor, Jeff saying to each other, "when is this going to end?!")And at this point, Nathan completely lost it and started giggling uncontrollably! Sooo funny! So proud of my little kindergartner! We are glad to be finished with this year of school and hope to have a better experience next year!
